Outpatient Therapy

I specialize in complex trauma and PTSD, developmental trauma, betrayal trauma, attachment wounds, and shame. I also frequently work with those who are dealing with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and family of origin issues.

In addition to my specializations, I also enjoy working with people who would like to focus on self-worth and self-esteem, relationships, assertive communication, boundaries, co-dependency, life transitions, substance abuse and addictions, and overall emotional wellness. There are many reasons people choose outpatient therapy!

I currently work with adults; aged 19 (out of high school) and up.

Outpatient therapy sessions are typically held once per week for 55 minutes.

Telehealth

I do offer therapy via Telehealth (virtual/computer-based sessions); you must be in the state of Nebraska during the sessions.

**ALL SESSIONS ARE CURRENTLY COMPLETED VIA TELEHEALTH **

Consultation Session

I believe that it is extremely important that a person is a good fit with their therapist! Of course, it might take some time to figure that out. I offer a 30-minute consultation session at no charge; you come in and chat with me, we will talk about your goals and determine if we are a good fit to work together. I am available to answer your questions about the therapeutic process. You might decide you’d like a referral or I might recognize that my areas of expertise do not meet your current needs. Of course, we may both recognize that it feels like a good fit and at that point, we will schedule your first session!

Therapeutic Interventions

First and foremost, I am a person-centered therapist. I work in collaboration with YOU to determine your treatment plan and interventions. I will meet you where you are to explore your goals and needs, and we will determine together how to proceed. I will support and guide you on your path to stability, healing, and joy. Regarding issues pertaining to mental health, trauma, and adverse life events, I am an EMDR therapist and a member of the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) as well as the Southeast Nebraska EMDRIA Regional Network. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional through the International Association of Trauma Professionals.

I enjoy using strengths-based and mindfulness concepts to support the therapeutic process. Some of the therapeutic techniques I utilize are:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
  • Somatic Experiencing™ (currently an 'advanced' student (year three) in the Three Year Professional Training Program)
  • Brainspotting
  • Psychodynamic Therapy
  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
  • REBT (Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy)
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Brief/Solution Focused Therapy
  • ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
  • Seeking Safety
  • Circle of Security
  • 12 Steps
  • EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique also known as Tapping)
