Outpatient Therapy
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and specialize in complex trauma and PTSD including developmental trauma, neglect, physical, emotional/psychological, sexual abuse and assault, betrayal trauma, attachment wounds, religious trauma and purity culture, and shame.
I also specialize in sex therapy with a holistic lens. This is a compassionate, whole-person approach to understanding and improving your relationship with sexuality, intimacy, and your body. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or problems, holistic sex therapy looks at the full picture of your life—your emotions, physical health, relationship patterns, past experiences, beliefs, culture, and nervous system. Sexuality doesn’t exist in isolation. It’s shaped by stress, communication, body image, trauma, hormones, identity, relationship dynamics, and the messages we’ve received about sex throughout our lives.
A holistic approach recognizes that all of these pieces matter. You are welcome here exactly as you are. All genders, sexual orientations, relationship structures, preferences, interests, and identities are respected and affirmed. The goal is to create a space where you can talk openly about topics that may have felt difficult, confusing, or even shameful elsewhere. Together, we explore what’s getting in the way of the connection, pleasure, confidence, or intimacy you want in your life. This might include working through anxiety around sex, navigating mismatched desire in relationships, healing from sexual shame or past experiences, reconnecting with your body, improving communication with a partner, or discovering what pleasure and intimacy truly mean for you. Holistic sex therapy may incorporate conversation, education, mindfulness, body awareness, nervous system regulation, and practical tools you can use in your daily life and relationships. Everything happens at a pace that feels safe and supportive.
This work isn’t about judgment, pressure, or “fixing” you. It’s about curiosity, self-understanding, and building a more compassionate relationship with your sexuality and your body without shame or judgment. Your sexuality is a natural and meaningful part of being human. Holistic sex therapy simply creates the space to explore it with care, respect, and intention. **(sex therapy does not involve touch or sexual acts).**
In addition to my specializations, I also enjoy working with people who would like to focus on self-worth and self-esteem, relationships, assertive communication, boundaries, co-dependency, life transitions, substance abuse, and overall emotional wellness. There are many reasons people choose outpatient therapy!
I currently work with adults; aged 19 (out of high school) and up. Outpatient therapy sessions are typically held once per week for 55 minutes.
Telehealth
I do offer therapy exclusively via Telehealth (virtual/computer-based sessions); you must be in the state of Nebraska during the sessions.
**ALL SESSIONS ARE CURRENTLY COMPLETED VIA VIDEO TELEHEALTH (ZOOM)**
Consultation Session
Studies show that a strong, positive therapeutic relationsip/alliance is the most significant predictor of therapeutic success. I believe that it is extremely important that a person is a good fit with their therapist! Of course, it might take some time to figure that out. I offer a 20-minute consultation session at no charge; chat with me, we will talk about your goals and determine if we are a good fit to work together. I am available to answer your questions about the therapeutic process. You might decide you’d like a referral or I might recognize that my areas of expertise do not meet your current needs. Of course, we may both recognize that it feels like a good fit and at that point, we will schedule your first session!
Therapeutic Interventions
First and foremost, I am a person-centered therapist. I work in collaboration with YOU to determine your treatment plan and interventions. I will meet you where you are to explore your goals and needs, and we will determine together how to proceed. I will support and guide you on your path to stability, healing, and joy. Regarding issues pertaining to mental health, trauma, and adverse life events, I am an EMDR therapist and a member of the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional through the International Association of Trauma Professionals. I am a memner of AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists).
